Wirral's High Street Heroes

I was recently commissioned by Wirral Council to provide images for their High Street Heroes campaign to promote independent local businesses on the Wirral.

When Wirral Council invited members of the public to nominate their ‘High Street Heroes’, suggestions poured in for hundreds of independent shops that went above and beyond during lockdown. The nominations proved how small businesses are the beating heart of Wirral’s communities, delivering food and essentials to shielding residents while providing a cheerful face during testing times.

I had an absolute ball on this job and met some amazing people, we visited photographed and filmed 17 businesses in two days - this fantastic feel good campaign is currently doing the rounds on the radio, social media and on buses, bus stops and billboards around the Wirral. Liverpool University Hospital Trust - Values Campaign

I worked together recently with Liverpool University Hospital Trust on a set of Values Based Campaign Posters that are now loud and proud onsite at the Royal, Broadgreen and Aintree hospitals - this brand photography campaign was based around the main values of Fairness, Caring and Innovation. Members of staff that are brand ambassadors are featured in the posters and all had impressive achievements making a difference in and around the trust. We worked onsite for a couple of days and captured some general marketing shots whilst there too. Im always really happy to champion NHS staff and having worked in this sector for many years am personally delighted with the increase in awareness of the good work that goes on - the staff really deserve it.

The Institute of Motoring

The IMI is the national professional association for individuals working in the motor industry and the authoritative voice of the sector based in Hertfordshire – they have undergone a huge rebrand and needed imagery from all sectors and disciplines to accompany the associated marketing materials.

The organisation is too vast to explain in a few words but I have photographed over 12 days nationally over the past few months in different centres of excellence in teaching / manufacturing / sales and maintenance amongst others. This blog is probably the largest I’ll ever publish but I can now say I know slightly more about mechanics than I did before.

Wirral Food And Drink Guide

I photograph a fair amount of food these days but in October last year I spent had a great job showcasing the Wirral regions finest culinary offerings and venues for Wirral Borough Council who produce thousands of printed copies of the guide in January this year for tourism in the area. It was fantastic to be challenged creatively and I am pretty chuffed with the final result - some of the imagery is existing from the previous guide but I did all the main section headings and many venues for the remainder of the book shown as smaller images within..

Furniture Resource Company

I’ve been working with the Furniture Resource Centre group over the last year now so just wanted to show a snap shot of who they are and what they do - FRC Group is a leading social business, running commercial businesses offering employment in housing furniture manufacturing, installation and recycling - they offer high end furniture solutions to the social sector market and for those local peeps that may have seen the vans around they are 'Bulky Bobs' too .

I’ve been documenting various case studies of finished national projects and in between capturing the different elements of what they do showing client consultation and the interior design process / installation and a few finished pics - the lifestyle shots were taken as part of a campaign for a part of the FRC group called Our House.

Royal British Legion - Legion Magazine

I love sometimes how great jobs can come out of the blue  - I spent an afternoon shooting an article for the newly branded Royal British Legions quarterly magazine in their new drop in support and information centre just off Lord Street Liverpool - I was lucky to meet some great characters and will be keeping in touch with developments there.

They say this centre will become the flagship for rolling out across the country - so good to know there is support there for the military old and new.

Liverpool Clinical Laboratories

Last week I did some promotional photography for the new LCL based at what will be The New Royal Hospital - currently there are in excess of seven floors of Pathology labs at the Royal and they will be merging with Aintree in order to offer a more streamlined and efficient service.
